Bethel was born at Top Dog Kennels in Canisota, South Dakota on December 21, 2015 as a result of a breeding between 4xGMPR The Captn’s Sierra Shadow Ale MH – “Porter” (c)* – SR05840601 and TDK’s Blue Hunter Rose Lady Jasmine – “Jazzy” – SR56030804.
Bethel is a 54-pound dark chocolate Labrador Retriever with a very sweet, gentle, friendly disposition. She is one of the few dogs that has the freedom to run free around our kennel, because she doesn’t have a mischievous bone in her body and she’s always amiable, happy and loving. Bethel’s soft nature is contrasted with her extreme birdiness and her love for retrieving. This has made her a willing worker when it comes time to hunt. Her gentle personality and great on/off switch are highlighted by her exceptionally great looks. She has a very thick, soft, dark chocolate coat, blocky head, and well-proportioned conformation, giving her a striking appearance. As an upland dog, Bethel has a natural point, careful search intent, and enthusiastic retrieve. Her father, Porter – 4x GMPR The Cptns Sierra Shadow Ale MH QAA, is likely responsible for her outstanding traits. Porter has been proven to throw great natural pointers and hunters with easy-going dispositions. On a personal note, Bethel is one of our favorite dams here. She is an intelligent escape artist and can climb out of every kind of kenneling system in our facility. You would expect such a determined dog to be annoying or aggressive, but she is actually merely driven to be with humans. Since she’s one of only two dogs we allow to roam freely about our place, we’re pleased that she happens to be one of our absolute sweetest dogs. Julie especially loves that this dog is gentle, non-invasive, doesn’t lick, doesn’t slobber or drool, and doesn’t shove herself into your space, begging for affection. Instead, Bethel will calmly sit or lie down about three feet away and watch you, waiting patiently for you to pet her. She thanks you with eyes filled with a quiet joy and gratitude. What a sweetheart!
