TOTAL CARE for all dogs at MMK includes: boarding, feeding, exercising, socializing, training, worming and vaccinating all dogs on premises. Any dog introduced into the MMK training system will be required to show proof of proper vaccinations. They will also immediately get wormed, be treated for kennel cough and vaccinated for the safety of all dogs. On the first of the month they will get heartworm medication during summer months, but should be checked by a vet to confirm no heart worms currently exist before this prevention can be effective.

LIMITED OPPORTUNITIES are available for training, so if an owner would like to have a dog enrolled they can contact MMK to see if there is room (pete@mmkennels.com). If there is room they can reserve their spot in the training program by paying the first month of training in advance. All training costs are due in advance.

TRAINING PARTNERSHIP. MMK believes that a training process is a three-way partnership. The partners include the trainer, the dog and the owner. For the dog to be a successfully trained hunting partner or home companion all three partners need to participate. Below are the spelled out expectations of the trainer. If during the first month the trainer finds the dog incapable of receiving training at the pace listed below he will notify the owner and discuss options. Not all dogs are worth spending significant funds to train. If we feel that your dog will not be a good candidate for advanced training we will tell you in the first month or two of its training.

Another crucial partner is the owner. He plays a very important part of the equation if training is going to be successful. The owner must be taught to use the correct cues to handle his newly trained partner. He should also keep some form of basic training in place to keep the dog sharp and limit regression. After the first six weeks, monthly meetings of all three partners should be considered a priority.
